Operational Object 4 : Metal
2019, Columbia University, GSAPP
The prompt for this series of objects was to use a single material and a single operation to create an object of 24in x 24in x 24in. Each object was to relate to a specific part of the body. Running concurrently to the making, was research into a personal obsession. For me this centered on the tactile and emotive, how a ‘surface’ can be spatial and immersive and how that makes us (me) feel. An internal dialogue of touchings and feelings. Through this process, 4 Operational Objects were born.
